Module Seven Discussion Highlights in relation to future MSN Capstone Project

The MSN 600 Module Seven Discussion Board begins the process of selecting a problem or issue that you anticipate within your future advanced nursing role, identifying a PICOT clinical/practice question with beginning literature review, and discussing relationship of one quantitative research article to your PICOT clinical/practice question in preparation for your future MSN capstone project. In the upcoming MSN 602 course, you will again share your PICOT clinical/practice question with further refinement, continue literature review, and further discuss relationship of research articles to your PICOT clinical/practice questions as you continue your journey toward the MSN capstone project. Using the PICOT clinical/practice question initiated in MSN 600 throughout MSN 602 and other courses will enhance work with your MSN capstone project.

Please write responses to each of the four questions listed below for Module 7 Discussion Board:

1. Choose a problem or issue that you anticipate within your future advanced nursing role; preferably, a problem or issue that will be the focus for your future MSN capstone project. Describe the problem in approximately five sentences.

2. Next, based on the problem described in question one, formulate a clinical/practice question using the “Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Time (PICOT)” format. This question will drive the literature search for your selected problem or issue discussed in question one.

3. To support and assist in choosing and writing your PICOT in question one (#1) of this discussion board, a minimum of 6-10 current research articles with at least one article being a quantitative design should be reviewed. List the articles here as a response to this question three (#3). The articles should be in alphabetical order and each article should be listed as a full reference using the APA (2020) format.

4. Choose one of the articles cited in question three (#3) of this discussion board that is a quantitative article and discuss the relationship of your selected quantitative article to your PICOT practice/clinical question.

Grading:

Student assignment will be graded according to MSN 600 syllabus, indicated guidelines, and discussion board grading rubric.
